Woman clinging to life after partner 'slashed her throat'

A Sydney mother-of-five is fighting for life after her partner allegedly slit her throat after an argument yesterday afternoon.

Rachael Lee, 42, was inside her Linde Road home, in Glendenning, when she was allegedly attacked by her partner, Kevin Scroop.

During the ordeal, Mr Scroop allegedly slit Ms Lee’s throat. She was taken to Westmead Hospital, and remains in a critical condition.

She has been told her mother's injuries are so severe, she may be left a paraplegic.

Mr Scroop has been charged with wounding a person with intent to cause grievous bodily harm (DV) and appeared in Parramatta Local Court today.

During his brief court appearance the accused pleaded with the magistrate to tell him about Ms Lee’s condition.
