Two men have escaped with minor injuries after a helicopter crash that damaged their aircraft significantly in south-west Sydney on Sunday.
Emergency services were called to Bankstown Airport about 12.30pm to reports that a small helicopter had crashed.
Police from Bankstown Local Area Command found the four-seater Robinson R22 helicopter with significant damage.
The instructor, aged 56, and a student, 43, were treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics for minor injuries.
Initial inquiries indicate the helicopter crashed at low altitude, police say.
The Australian Transport Safety Bureau will investigate with the assistance of police.
