A traffic accident in Logan on Sunday morning has claimed two lives and emergency workers have cut one other occupant from the wreckage.

Emergency services were called to Waterford Tamborine Road, near the intersection with Coplick Crescent, in Buccan just after 10.30am, and were confronted with a multi-vehicle crash, involving a truck and at least one other vehicle.

Police closed the road in both directions, with northbound diversions along Stegemann Road and southbound traffic being directed onto Dairy Creek Road.

Australian Traffic Network reporter Olympia Kwitowski said there were significant delays in both directions along Waterford Tamborine Road as a result, with police asking motorists to avoid the area if possible.
