A young girl is fighting for life after a two-car collision about 110 kilometres south-east of Melbourne on Saturday.
Five people were injured after two cars crashed on the Drouin-Korumburra Road, Athlone, just before 1.30pm.
A primary school-aged girl was flown to the Royal Children's Hospital, where she remained in a critical condition on Saturday night.
A preschool-aged boy was also flown to the hospital with facial injuries. His condition is stable.
Ambulance Victoria spokesman John Mullen said a woman in her 60s was airlifted to The Alfred hospital with back and chest injuries. She is in a serious but stable condition.
A woman in her 70s suffered minor injuries and was taken by road ambulance to the Royal Melbourne Hospital.
Another woman, in her 60s, was treated at the scene but didn't require hospitalisation.
Victoria Police spokeswoman Belinda Batty said the exact circumstances surrounding the collision were yet to be determined.
