Deniliquin North Public School students learnt about the importance of sustaining our planet as part of National Science Week celebrations this week.
This year’s theme, ‘Future Earth’, focuses on sustainability science and those issues which are unique to Australia and our region.
Principal Megan Hunter said the week served as an opportunity for students to ‘‘demonstrate their understanding through fun and hands-on tasks’’.
In the Year 2/3 classrooms, each student created their own experiment followed by a formal write-up including their findings. Students in Kindergarten and Years 5/6 worked in buddy groups to craft a diorama of native Australian animal habitats.
