HOMICIDE detectives are searching for clues into the death of a man in West Footscray.
A man, aged in his 20s, was found on Ashley St, just metres from busy Tottenham station, suffering from critical injuries.
The Herald Sun understands the man died after suffering serious stab wounds to his back.
A witness told the Herald Sun he seemed to have “wounds like he was stabbed”.
Police are now investigating if the incident occurred after a “meeting went wrong”.
It is understood detectives are currently reviewing CCTV footage from Tottenham train station.
Emergency crews arrived shortly before 7pm but were unable to the revive the man.
A section of Ashley Street was cordoned off as the investigation took place.
Meanwhile, police are also investigating the death of a man in Sunshine West.
A Victoria Police spokeswoman said the man died in a house on McGregor Street at about 8.30pm.
A woman was also found injured at the scene. She suffered non-life threatening injuries.
Homicide squad detectives are currently on the scene and are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
