A man and a woman have been busted trying to smuggle drugs and mobile phones into NSW's most secure prison, police say.
NSW Police will allege a man parked on Cemetery Road, Goulburn and climbed the fence of the Goulburn Correctional Centre to place two bags in a garbage bin at 11.45pm on Saturday.
Police tried to stop the man, who was carrying a third bag, but he fled.
Officers chased him down on foot before arresting the 32-year-old man.
A 34-year-old woman who was with the car parked on Cemetery Road was also arrested.
The bags allegedly contained 30 packets of tobacco and papers, three mobile phones, mobile phone chargers, two balloons containing white powder, cannabis, steroids and sedatives, among other items.
Both were taken to Goulburn Police Station and charged with entering a building with intent, unlawfully entering or attempting to enter place of detention, unlawfully bringing anything into place of detention, bringing prohibited drugs or plants into place of detention, possessing prohibited drugs, and supplying a small quantity of prohibited plants.
The man was refused bail and appeared in Goulburn Local Court on Sunday. He will appear before the court again on Wednesday.
The woman was granted conditional bail and will appear before Goulburn Local Court on March 7.
