"Josh Warner, pitching for his first time in a Cavs uniform, he gave us every chance today," Collins said.

"We threw a ball away and that kind of led to the two runs, but even still he gave us the innings and kept it close.

"One of the Japanese guys comes in through the week so that'll boost the pitching even more, so looking forward to it.

"That'll send our other pitcher to the bullpen and kind of strengthens both starters and relievers."

Canberra sit on the bottom of the ABL north-east conference and travel to Sydney to face the unbeaten Blue Sox.
