LISA Coen was on her daily commute, minding her own business, when she was pickpocketed.
The Dublin woman was on the tram when a man stuffed his hand into her pocket, hoping to fish out her wallet or phone. Instead he got a rude awakening.
He pulled out a tampon — unsued, Coen has since been at pains to clarify.
The thief was then mortified and tried to stuff the tampon back into her pocket, Coen wrote on Twitter.
“New, but the wrapping was falling off it because I am a shambles,” she added later.
Other Twitter users then started sharing their own hilarious stories about what happened when they were pickpocketed.
“My backpack was stolen while I was getting the baby out of the taxi. We were on our way home. Bag full of used cloth nappies. Very used,” one woman wrote.
Another said: “One of my students tried to steal a “reward” sticker from my bag, but got the wrong container in my bag ... My Diva cup container ...”
Another wrote: “So my brother’s friend was taking a stool sample to the lab & put it in a shopping bag. Guy snatched it from her hand & escaped on a bike.”
