An unruly man yelling 'there's a bomb on the plane' was restrained and escorted off a Spirit Airlines flight at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, and an onlooker recorded the chaos.
An airplane passenger who went berserk and started screaming that he would blow up the jet was forcibly removed from a Spirit Airlines flight in Atlanta on Friday morning.
In a video taken by a fellow passenger, the man shouts, "There's a bomb on the plane."
"If she takes me off, I'll blow the f-----g plane up," he screams as a female Atlanta police officer tries to remove him from his seat.
The passenger had outbursts during the flight, WSB-TV reported, and he had even started throwing things at other travelers.
This prompted the pilot of Flight 404, which was traveling from Fort Lauderdale, Fla., to Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, to ask the cops to meet him at the gate.
Flight attendants asked that passengers remain calm and stay in their seats during the incident.
The pilot addressed the episode after the man had been escorted off the plane.
“Folks, it will just be a few more minutes, please remain seated. We'll let you know. I appreciate everyone's cooperation. I want to sincerely apologize to everyone on board that airplane today for that,” he said.
The passenger's name has not been released, and WSB-TV reported that he is undergoing psychiatric evaluation.
