Man's death at Monash declared major crime

The death of a man whose body was found in South Australia’s Riverland yesterday has been declared a major crime.

Police said the man, aged in his late 40s, had not been seen since November 22 and officers found his body when they went to check at his home on Brown Rd at Monash at about 11am yesterday.

Detective Inspector Greg Hutchins, from the Major Crime Investigation Branch, said it was obvious from the circumstances he was found in that this was a suspicious death.

“We won’t disclose the cause of death at this time for investigational reasons, but I can say it was violent,” he said.

Police have appealed for help to locate a black 2004 VZ Holden Commodore sedan with registration number XLS408, which is missing from the property.
