Basketball ACT is waiting to hear from the SEABL in regards to whether the matches will be rescheduled.

The Capitals Academy did manage to get one game in to open their campaign, defeating the Diamond Valley Eagles 64-57 (Keely Froling 25 points and 18 rebounds, Kate Gaze 20 points) in Melbourne on Friday night.

Officials hope to avoid another lighting issue when the Capitals Academy and Gunners host the Geelong Supercats at Belconnen Basketball Stadium on April 21.

It comes six weeks after an AFL pre-season match between the GWS Giants and the Collingwood Magpies was almost cut short at Manuka Oval as three of the six light towers failed to turn on in the first quarter.
