Trevor Casey, the owner of Inter Dominion favourite Lazarus, had a couple of worrying moments before drawing gate two for his superstar in Friday night's Grand Final at Gloucester Park. Lazarus was second last horse to be drawn and Casey had the choice between gates two and 10 in the blind draw. He picked up two to his relief leaving one of the main dangers Chicago Bull with the second row draw.
"(Trainer-driver) Mark (Purdon) didn't want anything to do with (gates) one and ten," Casey said. "Two is excellent. We will be right there. He is ready. You will see the real Lazarus."
The other main hopes in the final drew well with NSW representative Tiger Tara coming up with gate one, leading points scorer in the series Soho Tribeca, four, and Lennytheshark will start from gate six.
Inter Dominion barrier draw: 1 Tiger Tara 2 Lazarus 3 Vultan Tin 4 Soho Tribeca 5 Galactic Star 6 Lennytheshark 7 San Carlo 8 Shandale 9 Have Faith In Me 10 Chicago Bull.
