WA Police have recaptured a prisoner who broke out of a women's facility on Saturday morning, saying she was found "hiding under a pile of laundry" in a Cockburn home.
27-year-old Santana Marie Mason escaped from a Bentley minimum security complex around 11:00am yesterday.
After an extensive hunt for Ms Mason, Regional Investigations Group officers recaptured her at a house in Cockburn Central.
When officers arrived at the Coburn Central residence, a 35-year-old woman told police the escapee was not there.
However, Ms Mason was found following a search of the property "hiding under a pile of laundry".
The 27-year-old has been charged with Escaping from Lawful Custody, and is due to appear in the Perth Magistrates Court today.
While she is not believed to be involved in the escape, the 35-year-old woman who allegedly hid Ms Mason from police has now been charged with Aiding an Escapee.
