A body has been removed from a beach on Victoria's Surf Coast, with investigators saying it's too early to make a link to missing Melbourne mum Elisa Curry.
The human remains were found on a beach near the town of Anglesea on Wednesday and a pathologist is working to identify the person and cause of death.
Police on jet skis inspected the water about mid-afternoon and took off toward Aireys Inlet - the town from where 43-year-old Ms Curry disappeared 11 days ago.
The body was found on the beach seven kilometres from the holiday house where Ms Curry was last seen.
The keen runner was known to jog long distances from the family's Aireys Inlet property and was last seen on September 30.
A week-long search of land, water and from the air failed to find Ms Curry before emergency services called it off.
The gender of the body has not been confirmed, nor if it was found in the water, but television footage showed police gathered on sand near a fence backing on to dunes.
