Klemke sees both Demons and Angels in AFL mid-season draft

Canberra Demons coach Kade Klemke is torn. Super excited for his players, but not excited at the prospect of trying to replace a key player mid-season.

The AFL will introduce a mid-season rookie draft next year about round 10, which this year was at the end of May, which will see AFL clubs able to plunder second-tier competitions like the NEAFL.

The SANFL and WAFL are fuming about the decision they implored the AFL Commission not to make.

It means the Demons could be charging towards another finals campaign in 2019 only to lose their best player, or players, in the run home.

Great news for the player, who will get the chance to establish themselves at the highest level, but not so good for the club.
