New Canberra Gunners Academy coach Sam Adams wants to lay the platform for the ACT's next crop of stars to take the leap into college basketball.
A long-time player, Adams has been involved with the Academy since its inception. This season however, Adams will suit up on the sideline.
The newly appointed head coach has played for Wests Magpies for the past six years, and represented both ACT and NSW at junior level, whilst also playing for the Canberra Gunners in 2015.
The former Queanbeyan Tigers NEAFL player is known for playing an aggressive style and he takes the reins from Tony Plunkett, who coached the Academy for six years, and led Adams' Basketball ACT Premier 1 Wests team to the 2017 title.
"I want to build on the great job that Tony has done over the past few years," Adams said.
