Emergency services have warned Kings Perth locals to stay away from the area as firefighters battle an out-of-control blaze near the popular tourist spot on Sunday afternoon.

The fire started on the corner of Lovekin Drive and Forrest Drive, although it is unknown what sparked the blaze.

A number of roads have been closed as emergency services attempt to contain the fire, including Lovekin Drive from the corner of Poole Avenue, the May Drive roundabout and Forrest Drive.

Firefighters are currently attempting to strength containment lines and have issued bushfire advice for those near Lovekin Drive, Forrest Drive and the DNA Tower.

There is currently no threat to homes or property, although motorists have still been asked to avoid the area, reduce speed and drive carefully due to smoke.

Kings Park Botanical Parks and Gardens Authority are also in attendance.
