“It is somewhat unique because the catalogue is done alphabetically. These horses fell at a good time when there was money around and obviously good judges were waiting for them.”
The I Am Invincible colt out of Ten Carat Rock, which from the family of Redoute’s Choice, started the roll. It was slow to begin but Domeland won the day at $850,000.
Next it was Snitzel’s turn. He is the leading stallion in country, father of Everest winner Redzel, Golden Slipper winner Estijaab and Trapeze Artist, which has the Golden Rose and TJ Smith to his name.
The colt was out of I Am Invincible mare Tetsuko and was the pick of the sale for Sheikh Hamdan Bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s Shadwell Stud, which parted with $1.4 million for him.
The sale topper would follow, a Fastnet Rock colt, again out of mare from the Redoute's Choice family in The Broken Shore. He had been one of the most paraded horses at Riverside Stables and after 16 bids, the hammer fell in favour of Anthony Freedman.
