Queanbeyan trainer Joe Cleary might've missed out on a spot in the $1.3 million Kosciuszko, but he'll still have runners at Randwick on Saturday and will still donate part of his fees to charity.
Cleary's Coolring will be an emergency for the inaugural running of The Kosciuszko after missing out on one of the 12 slots up for grabs for country NSW horses.
He'd been campaigning to #givethegreyago, but wasn't able to lock down a slot.
Cleary said he would donate half of his trainers fee to the Ricky Stuart Foundation if Coolring made The Kosciuszko, but instead he'll stick to that promise with his two runners at Randwick on Saturday.
He has Lucy Rose in the benchmark 78 handicap and Bart in the Highway Handicap as his two chances for the day.
