Rolfe, 51, has enjoyed a business relationship turning Simpson's city horses into winners for 30 years and said the only secret to his success was experience.

"I’ve trained around 600 winners in my career and won 45 country cups but now I’m down to a hobby [trainer]," Rolfe said.

"[Waldo Waldorf] has won almost $50,000 in the 10 weeks I've had so Jim and his wife are pretty happy up in Sydney.

"I’ve known Jim for 30 years, if anything isn't firing he sends them to me and I've had some pretty good success over the years so he keeps them coming.

"Most have won their second or third start, it's a drop in company from city and provincial so I’m not a genius but I do have a good success rate.
