Kieran Reilly spends most days helping guests at a Canberra hotel, but his real passion is bone-crunching hits and a journey to the under-19s gridiron world championships.

Reilly, Isaac Helsop and James Micallef are the Canberra trio picked in the Australian Outback juniors squad for the World Cup in Mexico, which starts on July 14.

They will spend almost one month overseas honing their craft, first with a training camp at universities in the United States and then getting stuck into the best juniors from around the world.

Reilly has been trying to find a work-life balance as he juggles a full-time hotel receptionist's job and a full-time training schedule to learn the Outback playbook.

"I am working full-time at the Hotel Realm in Canberra at the moment and I work eight hours, five days a week and on top of that I am training twice every day," Reilly said.
