Canberra Heat men thrash Queensland Pirates in AVL

It was a mixed bag for the Canberra Heat against the Queensland Pirates in the Australian Volleyball League at the AIS over the weekend.

The Pirates proved too strong in the women's winning two from two, including a five-set epic on Sunday, while the men dropped just one set in two matches.

The Canberra men won 25-20, 25-23, 25-23 on Saturday and 23-25, 25-23, 25-18, 25-17 on Sunday. The Queensland women prevailed 20-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-22 in their opener and 25-13, 20-25, 22-25, 25-19, 15-8 in game two.

The Canberra Cobras, the reserve men's team, fell against the Queensland Buccaneers in straight sets on Saturday and 25-23, 20-25, 25-21, 25-21 on Sunday.
