He has finally got his shot, and Ben Edwards has never been more ready.
The Canberra fighter (2-0) managed to get a visa on short notice and will fly to the United States on Sunday for the open tryouts of The Ultimate Fighter 28 at the Palace Station Hotel in Las Vegas on May 22.
A whirlwind couple of days saw Edwards fire off countless emails and make several trips to Sydney, but it has paid off with the 34-year-old granted the "opportunity of a lifetime".
Edwards says it couldn't have come at a better time after he had several fights fall through and a contract with European giants Fight Nights Global seemingly slip through the cracks.
"Bloody oath [I'm keen for a fight, I haven't] since November. I want to fight every three months ideally," Edwards said.
