A MAN has been charged with trying to procure an 11-year-old for sex through vile online chat with her father - who turned out to be undercover cops.
Detectives from the Sex Crimes Squad have been posing online as the girl’s father since January.
They will allege a 33-year-old from the Northern Beaches repeatedly made explicit comments about the child and arranged a meeting with the pair.
But as he arrived at Parramatta at 11.30am yesterday the man was met by officers from Strike Force Trawler, a dedicated team inside the State Crime Command set up to trap online predators.
Detectives then executed a search warrant at a Dee Why unit, seizing computers, electronic storage devices, and mobile phones.
The man was taken to Parramatta Police Station and charged with inciting to commit aggravated sexual intercourse with a person aged between 10 and 14, using a carriage service to procure a person under 14, and using a carriage service to transmit, publish or promote child pornography.
Strike Force Trawler has announced eight arrests already in 2017, including some of the state’s boldest creeps for charges relating on child pornography, grooming and abuse.
