So there you have it. As it turns out, West Coast had no more ammunition left after last week's epic win over Port Adelaide.
The Giants were clearly stung by their effort against Adelaide last week and it showed tonight.
GWS were too slick, too quick and too strong for the Eagles as they cruised to a 67-point win.
In the end GWS comfortably won the disposals 400-356, clearances 48-38, tackles 83-60, inside 50s 59-47 and contested possessions 142-128. It really was a no-contest.
The Giants will now meet Richmond in the Second Preliminary Final at the MCG in a twilight fixture next Saturday.
The winner will face either Adelaide or Geelong in the 2017 AFL Grand Final.
GWS are aiming for their maiden grand final and Richmond are trying to qualify for their first grand final since 1982.
